Focused initiatives

Helps female students break into internships in Engineering and other male-dominated technical fields. PUCC coordinates directly with employer partners on workplace logistics and accommodations, so students can fully participate in site-based and technical roles. Paired with STEM Career Readiness Training to build the skills and confidence to compete for top roles.

Run in partnership with LWAH since December 2016, connecting qualified candidates with disabilities to public- and private-sector employers, while encouraging partner organizations toward more inclusive hiring.

Pairs students from underrepresented backgrounds with PU alumni who share similar backgrounds and have successfully transitioned into the workforce — including connecting female STEM students with alumnae already established in those industries. Offers guidance grounded in lived experience and access to a professional network students may not otherwise have.

Targeted workshops helping female students build negotiation skills and confidence ahead of entering the job market.

Run with the Minorities Center's Women's Continuity Pathway and HR, supporting PU staff and faculty returning to their roles after a career interruption. Includes skills refresh guidance, confidence coaching, and connection to relevant training resources for a smooth, supported return.

Internship & career mentorship

Every student is mentored through two distinct stages — during their internship and again before graduation.

Every intern is paired with a dedicated faculty mentor upon placement, guaranteeing equal support across all departments. Mentors run weekly check-ins and make mandatory site visits throughout the placement, with outcomes tracked in PU's Quality Assurance framework.

Every graduating student completes a mandatory 45-minute one-on-one session with Career Center staff, covering resume/CV building, mock interviews, portfolio review, and industry alignment. Available to all final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students — book via careercenter@pu.edu.lb
