International Outreach School Visits Five years ago, Phoenicia University launched an outreach initiative through the GOIA Office to connect with students in West Africa who may have limited access to information about higher education opportunities abroad. Since then, the initiative has continued on an annual basis, with the GOIA Office visiting around six to seven schools each year. Through these visits, students are introduced to study opportunities at PU, admission pathways, and the support available to help them access higher education. Over the past five years, the initiative has reached hundreds of students across West Africa. Some of the students first introduced to PU through these school visits have since enrolled at the University, turning the outreach effort into a direct pathway to higher education.
Scholarship Advising & Postgraduate Opportunities The GOIA also supports students in identifying and pursuing opportunities to continue their education abroad, including fully funded scholarships, exchange programs, and summer sessions. As part of this support, the office guides students toward international scholarship pathways and advising opportunities such as Education USA sessions, the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, and the UK’s Chevening Scholarship. Through this support, students are introduced to opportunities they may not have otherwise considered and are guided toward postgraduate study at universities around the world, regardless of their financial background.
