PU Incubator Info Session Series 2025
In January 2025, the Phoenicia University Incubator (PUI) organized an information session within its continuing community engagement activities, aimed at showcasing the University’s startup support services to students and community members of the surrounding area. 30 people took part, demonstrating PUI’s devotion to fostering creativity and entrepreneurship far beyond the University grounds.
Attendees discovered the benefits of becoming a PUI member, such as guidance from mentors, business training, and access to the University’s shared innovation facilities, including thirteen state-of-the-art laboratories. The presentation outlined the entire incubation pathway, from developing a first concept to expanding a business. It ended with an engaging question-and-answer round and private consultations for anyone considering an application.
The session was delivered by PUI Advisory Board member Dr. Dima Basma, Dean of the College of Law and Political Science, who covered legal, regulatory and compliance considerations, and by faculty member Dr. Khalil Yassin, who spoke on leadership in building successful ventures. He stressed clear vision, effective team management, sound decision-making under uncertainty and resilience, and explained how strong leadership builds trust with partners, investors, and customers. The Advisory Board and faculty continue to offer hands-on mentorship, at no cost, helping participants turn ideas into viable, sustainable ventures.
As part of the session, participants were invited to submit the Incubator Application to explore and receive entrepreneurial support. They were also introduced to the Incubator Workspace Reservation Form to reserve workspaces and access the University's specialized facilities and laboratories, which are available to support product development, research, prototyping, and business development activities.
This information session forms part of PUI's ongoing community engagement program, which provides regular, free opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs to explore incubation services, develop entrepreneurial skills, and establish financially and socially sustainable businesses that contribute to local economic development.
