World Obesity Day: BMI Measurements, Nutritional Advice, and Educational Activities

In recognition of World Obesity Day, Phoenicia University (PU) organized a free public health awareness event aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and increasing awareness of obesity prevention and nutrition. The event was open to students, faculty, staff, and members of the wider community, providing inclusive access to health education and preventive services.
Participants benefited from complimentary Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments and individualized nutritional guidance provided by qualified personnel. Based on their assessments, attendees received practical recommendations on healthy dietary practices, weight management, physical activity, and lifestyle modifications to reduce the risk of obesity-related health conditions. Educational activities also highlighted the importance of balanced nutrition, preventive healthcare, and informed lifestyle choices in improving long-term health outcomes.
Through the provision of free health screenings and evidence-based nutritional education, the event sought to empower individuals to make informed decisions regarding their health while fostering greater public awareness of the importance of disease prevention. This initiative demonstrates PU's commitment to advancing community well-being by making preventive health education accessible to all.
