Water Quality Testing 2025
Phoenicia University’s Water Quality Testing service is an ongoing, directly supplied programme that improves access to safe water, a basic service, for communities and institutions across Lebanon. It is delivered by the Civil and Environmental Department in collaboration with the Laboratories Department, which analyses water samples for bacteriological parameters such as cholera, fecal coliform and total coliform, in line with approved scientific standards and under the supervision of specialists.
The war in 2024 damaged water infrastructure and displaced populations, which raised the risk of contaminated water sources and increased the need for testing. In 2024–2025, PU expanded the service. It extended testing to additional municipalities and collected more samples to cover more areas facing a higher risk of pollution because of the war.
