PU Celebrates Engineering Week
Engineering Week is an educational and entertaining event that aims to celebrate and increase public dialogue on engineers’ exceptional contributions to social and industrial prosperity. The annual Engineering Week at Phoenicia University reinforces our commitment to ensuring an educated and diverse workforce through appreciation of engineers’ role on the local, national and international levels.
The weeklong event, which took place between April 23 and April 27, featured stimulating and hands-on activities, and was well-attended by different members of the PU community. Kickoff day on Monday featured an opening ceremony during which candidates for the new board of the Engineering Society presented their plans. On Tuesday, different groups of students participated in the Recycling Design Competition to highlight the wide-ranging benefits of adopting recycling habits. On Wednesday, the most awaited election day, engineering students voted for their new representatives. They also tested their knowledge and understanding of engineering facts and theories during the Knowledge Competition which took place on Thursday. The annual Engineering Week concluded Friday. The closing ceremony recognized the achievements and outstanding performance of current Engineering students. The new board members of the Engineering Society were announced. Miss Aya Haidar is the new president. Congratulations to all successful candidates!
