Community First Aid Training Session

Phoenicia University (PU), in collaboration with the Lebanese Civil Defense, organized a free Community First Aid Training Session to strengthen community preparedness and promote public health awareness. The session was open to students, faculty, staff, and members of the wider community, ensuring broad and equitable access to essential emergency response education.
Delivered by qualified Civil Defense personnel, the training combined theoretical instruction with practical demonstrations covering the fundamental principles of first aid. Participants learned how to recognize medical emergencies, assess situations safely, provide immediate assistance, and apply basic first-response techniques until professional medical services arrive. The session addressed key topics such as the management of wounds and bleeding, burns, fractures, choking incidents, and unconscious casualties, while reinforcing the importance of timely and appropriate intervention.
By providing this training free of charge and extending participation beyond the University community, PU contributed to building individual and community capacity to respond effectively to emergencies. The initiative reflects the University's commitment to promoting health literacy, public safety, and community resilience through accessible educational outreach.
