PU Incubator Empowers Local Community Through Series of Training and Opportunities Sessions
The PU Incubator (PUI) welcomed members of the local community for a series of training and opportunities sessions on September 1st, 2024, as part of its ongoing outreach initiative, "Explore Your Entrepreneurial Potential with PUI."
The sessions brought together aspiring entrepreneurs with two members of PUI's Advisory Board: Dr. Ahmad Hijazi, Dean of the College of Business, and Dr. Dima Basma, Dean of the College of Law and Political Science, who shared their expertise on the practical and legal foundations of launching a business.
Dr. Hijazi guided attendees through the Incubator's admission and incubation process, offering a clear roadmap from initial application to structured business development. Dr. Basma followed with a briefing on essential legal considerations for early-stage ventures, covering intellectual property protection, business registration, and regulatory compliance. Adding a practical dimension to the day, participants also took part in a hands-on business stress test, putting their early-stage ideas to the test against real-world assumptions. To extend the support beyond the sessions, both deans confirmed their availability for ongoing one-on-one consultancy with attendees.
Ahead of the training, participants completed a short PUI Survey helping the Incubator understand each participant's entrepreneurial stage and their interest in joining as a member. In total, 23 students and community members formally joined as new Incubator members, unlocking access to PUI's mentorship, training, and facility resources.
