Speech Therapy Department Hosts Voice & Body Wellness Workshop for Instructors

The Speech Therapy Department at Phoenicia University organized a Voice & Body Wellness Workshop, delivered by Ms. Isis Jardak, Clinical Speech and Voice Therapist. The session brought together instructors from various departments whose teaching relies heavily on sustained vocal use.

During the workshop, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of voice production, gaining a deeper understanding of the anatomy and physiology involved in healthy vocal function. Ms. Jardak highlighted early signs of vocal strain and emphasized the importance of early detection in preventing long-term vocal issues.

Instructors learned practical strategies for vocal hygiene, including simple daily habits to maintain vocal health. The session also included hands-on practice of warm-up and projection techniques, aimed at improving vocal clarity and endurance. In addition, participants explored the relationship between posture and voice, learning how proper alignment enhances breath support and reduces vocal fatigue.

The workshop provided instructors with practical and immediately applicable tools to support vocal well-being, contributing to more effective communication in the classroom and overall professional wellness.
