The Peer Support Unit provides students with guidance, encouragement, and shared learning through trained peer mentors. It fosters a supportive environment where students can receive support with revision sessions, tutoring and a range of and personal challenges, all with understanding and confidentiality.
Peer Mentoring Program
The Peer Mentoring Program is a dedicated mentoring track within the Peer Support Unit, pairing bottom quintile and LLMIC students with trained peer mentors — ideally upperclassmen who have navigated similar financial or transitional challenges themselves — during their first year at PU.
Beyond academic tutoring, already offered through Peer Support, this track proactively checks in on students at risk of dropping out for financial or personal reasons, connecting them with the university's broader support network services — including Work-Study, the Counseling Center, and wraparound support — before challenges become a reason to withdraw.
