Memberships and Accreditations

Phoenicia University's academic quality and institutional standing are validated by a portfolio of international accreditations, professional endorsements, and network memberships. These recognitions span institutional, program-level, and network affiliations.

Accreditations

PU holds both institutional and program accreditations. Institutional accreditation evaluates the University as a whole, including its governance, strategy, quality assurance, teaching and learning environment, research, and student support. Program accreditation evaluates specific academic programs or clusters of programs against discipline-specific standards, complementing the University's institutional accreditation.

Phoenicia University's College of Business achieved accreditation from the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) in 2026, valid until 2030. The accreditation covers the Bachelor of Business Administration program. IACBE is a U.S.-based specialized accreditation body focused on business education, recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) - the primary non-governmental body for higher education accreditation recognition in the United States.

Phoenicia University holds a dual standing with IACBE: it is both a member institution of the IACBE network AND has achieved formal program accreditation. Membership signals engagement with an international community of business schools; accreditation signals that the University's Bachelor of Business Administration has been externally validated against IACBE's outcomes-based quality standards.

Evaluation Criteria

    • Student learning outcomes - measurable achievement of program-level competencies.
    • Curriculum quality and coherence - alignment with business education standards and labour market expectations.
    • Faculty qualifications and scholarly activity - appropriate academic and professional credentials.
    • Continuous improvement processes - evidence-based program enhancement over time.
    • Strategic planning and resource adequacy -the program's operational sustainability.

Bachelor of Business Administration graduates carry a credential externally validated by a U.S. accreditation body recognized by CHEA. The program's participation in outcomes-based assessment means students' learning is systematically measured and improvement is continuous. The College of Business joins an international network of business schools committed to shared quality standards, opening collaboration and benchmarking opportunities.

The program's curriculum is aligned with current industry practice through IAA's ongoing engagement with advertising professionals worldwide. Graduates enter the communication, marketing, advertising, and public relations sectors with a credential recognized by employers connected to the IAA network globally. Faculty engagement with IAA provides opportunities to integrate emerging industry practices - - digital marketing, consumer behavior analytics, media technologies, brand strategy — into course content.

ASIC

Phoenicia University's Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Law programs were accredited by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) in 2025, valid until 2030. FIBAA is an internationally recognized quality assurance agency. FIBAA has been a full member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) since 2002 and is registered in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR). EQAR registration is significant: it means FIBAA's accreditation decisions are recognised across the entire European Higher Education Area , 49 countries operating under the Bologna framework.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Curriculum structure and academic content against international benchmarks in business and legal education.
  • Learning outcomes and assessment methodologies for their alignment with intended competencies.
  • Teaching methods, student support, and program management for effectiveness and student-centeredness.
  • Faculty qualifications and scholarly engagement in each of the two accredited disciplines.

Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Law graduates hold degrees externally validated by an EQAR-registered agency, giving them substantially strengthened credential portability across the 49-country European Higher Education Area. Graduates entering European postgraduate programs in business, management, law, or the social sciences do so from an accredited program base recognized in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and other Bologna signatories.

FIBAA

Phoenicia University's engineering programs received accreditation from the Federation of Arab Engineers (FAE) in 2025, valid until 2029. The FAE, is the regional professional body coordinating engineering education, practice, and mobility across Arab countries. FAE accreditation confirms that engineering education at PU meets professional standards established by Arab engineering organisations and supports graduates seeking professional recognition, registration, and employment within Arab labor markets.

Engineering graduates seeking professional practice in Arab countries carry a credential recognised by the regional professional coordinating body. The accreditation supports mobility of PU engineering graduates across Arab labor markets - particularly the Gulf, where a substantial share of Lebanese engineering graduates build careers. The engineering programs gain access to regional benchmarking, faculty exchange, and joint initiatives through the FAE network.

ACAET

Phoenicia University holds unconditional institutional accreditation from the Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute (ACQUIN), valid until 2030. The accreditation was awarded following a comprehensive external evaluation and a peer-review site visit, conducted by an international panel of senior academic experts from European institutions. ACQUIN is one of Germany's largest membership-based accreditation agencies and operates within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Unconditional accreditation is the strongest possible outcome under the ACQUIN framework covering the overall institution.

Areas of Particular Strength Cited by the Panel

  • Governance - clear, functional structures aligned with international good practice.
  • Curriculum Design and Structure - program-level curricula demonstrated coherence, alignment with intended learning outcomes, and appropriate international benchmarking.
  • Teaching and Learning - a student-centered approach with effective instructional design.

PU degrees are formally comparable to those of German and European universities for professional recognition purposes (via the German ANABIN database and equivalent European reference systems). Graduates enter European postgraduate programs without needing supplementary credential evaluation in most EHEA countries. Faculty gain access to European research networks, exchange schemes, and Erasmus+ partnership opportunities on the basis of institutional peer status. Alumni present their PU qualifications against a documented external validation valid through 2030.

Phoenicia University holds Premier Accreditation from ASIC (Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities), awarded in 2023. Premier is the highest of ASIC's four levels (Premier > Accredited > Provisional > Candidate), granted only to institutions that demonstrate excellence across every ASIC evaluation area. ASIC operates in more than 70 countries and evaluates institutions against eight areas: premises and health & safety; governance, management, and staff resources; learning resources; quality assurance and enhancement; student welfare; awards and qualifications; marketing and recruitment; and internationalization. ASIC is recognized by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) as an approved accreditation body for Tier 4 student sponsor licensing purposes, and is ISO 9001:2015 certified.

PU students and graduates pursuing UK educational pathways have access to institutions and visa routes that recognize ASIC-accredited institutions as approved sponsors. The accreditation supports international student recruitment by providing prospective students and their families with an independent, UK-recognized quality benchmark.
