Message from the Dean

As the Dean of the College of Public Health, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the website of PU and to our page. In our college, we offer students excellent education in the majors of public health, public health administration, and speech therapy.

Students enrolled in the public health major are provided with a solid academic training in topics that impact population health and healthcare systems, including environmental health, disease prevention, health informatics, global health, ethics, and behavioral and cultural issues. The study of Public Health focuses on improving and protecting community health and well-being, emphasizing the prevention of disease and disability among large groups of people. Those with public health degrees keep communities healthy through child wellness, disease prevention, education, disaster relief, clean water, access to healthcare, and much more.

Students enrolled for a speech therapy degree explore speech production and perception, articulation, fluency, hearing, language, and voice. They also develop their understanding about normal and abnormal communication processes over the lifespan. Students receive rigorous theoretical and practical training in all aspects of speech and language pathology for adults and children in the English and Arabic languages.

The work of therapists and public health professionals is becoming nationally and globally more important. Public health initiatives affect people’s lives every day in every part of the world. Public health addresses broad issues that affect the health and well-being of individuals, families, communities, populations, and societies—both now, and for generations to come.

At our college we dedicate ourselves to provide our students with the highest level of education and training. We would like to welcome you to our community.
