Electrical engineering is the engineering profession that focuses on the study of electricity and magnetism to design and manufacture vastly different products of varying sizes and applications. It encompasses power, electronics, and signal processing. The electrical engineering term encompasses both electrical and electronic fields, although there is a difference between the two terminologies. Electrical engineering addresses problems associated with large-scale electrical systems such as power generation, transmission, and distribution. Conversely, electronic engineering relates to the study of small-scale electronic systems, including integrated circuits. The field of electronic engineering can also branch off into robotics and manufacturing control systems. Communication engineering deals with transmission and reception of all forms of information (analog and digital) across various channels, including a co-axial cable, optical fiber or free space.
